CCo-Curricular Activities provides children with opportunities to showcase their talents. Standard wise competitions were conducted throughout the year like Thirukkural Recitation, Drawing and Painting, Poster Making, Fluent English Reading, Dance, etc.
KG children participated in various competitions like storytelling, song, dance and fancy dress held in our school.
Our school conducted various competitions like Essay writing, Elocution, Poster making for the students in different groups in order to give equal opportunity to all the students.
Various club activities like Colour day, Fruits & Vegetable day, Library week, Art from waste, Go green day and Nutrition day was organized to enhance the teaching and learning process in the Tiny Tots.
We guide students to discover and create their own understanding besides academics, co-scholastic activities that form an integral part of the school curriculum.
The CRM Auditorium constructed at the cost of Rs.50,00,000/- was set-up to conduct various activities like morning Assembly, Yoga, Taekwondo, Karate, Cultural programmes and also for all celebrations and meetings. It has come into full use as it is the venue for regional level programmes.
Vinayaga Public School has a well-stocked library with interesting and informative books on a variety of subjects. Students are encouraged to refer to these books not only for academic purposes but also to discover the pleasure of reading in a serene atmosphere.
Our Library has been enriched with subscriptions for several Newspapers, Magazines, Educational periodicals and a large number of fiction books in all subjects.
Physics, Chemistry, and Biology laboratories are an integral part of our school infrastructure. The laboratories are set up to provide opportunities to all students to explore the practical dimensions of each discipline to the fullest. They are well equipped with tools required to conduct a series of experiments as prescribed in the curriculum.
The Smart class provides great effort through audiovisual approach in addition to the normal chalk and talk method.
Vinayaga Public School has a fleet of 8 buses plying in a variety of routes for the safe transport of our students to and fro.
The first highlighted programme in our school was “Plantation Day” held on 19th June 2018. “Each one, Plant one” was clearly exhibited. The entire school was involved in the plantation day conducted in the school premises.
All the important members of the management committee of the Trust also contributed to the “Tree Plantation drive”. All the students of our school planted 50 saplings of different species of trees.
To familiarize the students with Indian culture and customs, Festivals are celebrated in the school. They are given a brief session about the significance of the festival and the celebration associated with it.

The first sports of Vinayaga Public School was held on 8th August 2018 on which various sports events were conducted and prize winners name was announced by the chairman.
The 72nd Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August 2018. The National flag was hoisted by our chairman Mr. C. Baskar & children were dressed up like National Leaders such as Gandhi, Nehru, Nethaji, Bharathiyar, and patriotism related cultural events were performed by our students and prizes and sweets were distributed at the end.
Our children grandly celebrated the Krishna Jayanthi on 1st September 2018. Boys dressed up like “Krishna” and girls like “Radha”. They performed cultural events like dance and singing. It made the day colorful.
A good teacher always motivate the students with curiosity, knowledge and wisdom.
Senior students of the school celebrated on 5th September 2018 acknowledging the efforts of the teachers and honored them. A cultural event was organized by both the teachers and the students. The school management committee felicitated the teachers on this occasion.
We celebrated Vinayaga Chathurthi on our campus on 12th September 2018. Our children decorated the campus and worshipped in the Vinayaga Temple which was situated on our campus. Some of the students wore Vinayagar mask. The entire day was filled with happiness by sharing sweets to one and other.
The two-day program was organized in our school on 5th October 2018. The aim of this program is to create awareness about the importance of trees and preserve the environment. The program provided tips for the remedial action to be taken immediately by saying no to plastics, growing plants, recycling the waste and also the students of grade I to X took part in a healthy eating, clean-up activity, Planting of saplings by the eco-stewards in the school premises, poster-making, and painting competition depicting the theme “Go Green”. Students were advised to follow the 3R’s (Reuse, Reduce, Recycle) of the environment.
Pooja celebration was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 17th October 2018. The rituals were conducted by a renowned priest, who performed the pooja in a very formal way. The ritual was graced with the presence of the School Managing Committee members, students, staff and faculty members. The event was celebrated with great zeal to make the day a memorable one also evoking the blessing of the goddess of knowledge to have a successful Academic and carrier growth. The devotional event ended by serving Prasad to everyone present.
Fireless cooking Activity was organized in our school on 30th October 2018. Students enjoyed the fireless cooking activity. It was a part of their EVS Curriculum. The activity was held for classes KG to X. KG, budding chefs prepared Sandwiches. Other class students prepared various mouthwatering and attractive dishes like Vegetable salad, Vegetable sandwiches, dessert, Lemonade and they also explained its nutritive value.
Children’s Day celebration focuses on children and their enjoyment. Not only an eminent figure and National leader, but Nehru also loved children and spend quite a lot of time with them. Teachers organized different cultural programmes and events for students on 14th November 2018. Children participated in various events such as Singing, Dancing, Drawing, Elocution, Speeches, Debates and so on.
On the orders of Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry, our school conducted the “School Swachhta Campaign” on 3rd December 2018, with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan sweeping the nation. This campaign will be another effort to enlighten the school children, regarding hygiene and keeping the environment clean. Our students should fulfil the national mission of providing a clean, healthy and safe environment to the upcoming Generation.
Our school celebrated India’s 70th Republic Day with great eclat on 26th January 2019. The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity. Chief guest, Managing Trustee C. Baskar hoisted the National flag, the students saluted the National flag and pledged to uphold the Honour and Integrity.
The choir group presented the patriotic Tamil song followed by our school prayer. The school auditorium reverberated with patriotic favour.
The students were given sweets with the image of fluttering tricolor in their minds.
Our school organized the science exhibition at the school on 5th and 6th February 2019. The budding scientists of our school presented many creative ideas as exhibits, the displays covered seven sub-themes namely health and well-being, Resource management, Water conservation, Nutrition, Medical plants, Innovative science projects like Bottle-garden, Electricity production by the windmill, Wind direction finder, Water filtration was exhibited.
The exhibition provided a platform for scientific experimentation and innovation to future scientists.
The exhibits were judged by the teachers in-charge and award-winning projects were given certificates.
Our school has organized one-day Educational Field trip for the students. All the students were taken to Gangai Konda Cholapuram on 13th February 2019. The great Chola king Rajendra Chola had built a temple at Gangai Konda Cholapuram as a counterpart of the big temple built by his father Rajaraja-I at Thanjavur. Gangai Konda Cholapuram the place which was filled with its beautiful sculpture and architecture. The children enjoyed the beauty of the temple, Nandhi. We went to the Museum where Antique things are displayed from the excavation carried out at Maligaimedu Ulkottai, the place covered by sand near Gangai Konda Cholapuram. Roof tiles, Chinese potteries, Iron clamps, Iron Nails, Bangle pieces, Glass pieces, decorated stone medallions, war weapons, Stone sculptures, coins, coin molds, and bricks, etc. This museum was formed in the year 1980.
The report is a sincere attempt to showcase our progress in terms of achievement and activities during the year.
